Reclaim your edge trim and roll scrap without densifying or pelletizing with the Precision AirConvey Granulate Feed System (GFS).

PAC's GFS closed-loop recycling system for non-woven, and sheet and film keeps up with demand by feeding both fluff and virgin resins into the extruder. The innovative system avoids common consistency problems traditionally associated with fluff recycling by keeping the fluff and virgin resins in two separate hopper chambers. The fluff (which is also called granulate) is conveyed by a variable speed auger, while the resin is pushed down by gravity. The auger is calibrated to speed up or slow down according the to the extruder speed, automatically changing speed as the extruder changes speed. Agitator arms prevent bridging and loss of feed.

PAC's GFS is as fast as it is efficient, offering reclaim rates of up to 1,200 pounds per hour per extruder.

As much as 28% of extruder output can come from your film and sheet reclaimed materials — reclaim percentages depend on the amount of trim you produce and the size of the extruder feed section. In some cases, PAC systems have achieved a rate of 33%. When processing non-wovens, 20% of extruder output can come from reclaimed material.

No Material Goes to Waste

The GFS can simultaneously feed edge trim and roll scrap into the system (if a roll feed is utilized), even though the edge trim is processed during production (in-line) and the roll scrap is collected and then processed (off-line). A high level switch inside the fluff hopper can control the roll-feed in order to regulate the amount of roll scrap fed into the system, ensuring the proper proportion of materials returning to the extruder. The GFS fits round, square, oval and rectangular extruder throats and extruders from 2 1/2 to 8 inches. Contact PAC to learn more about how a PAC GFS can help your company.
