Precision AirConvey Receives L.I.F.E. Certification
PAC’s Green Manufacturing Processes Recognized by TLMI (Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute, Inc.)
Precision Air Convey (PAC) recently received certification for ecofriendly manufacturing practices as part of the Label Initiative for the Environment (L.I.F.E) program created by the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute, Inc. The L.I.F.E. program is an industry-supported program intended to improve the environmental profile of companies working in the narrow web printing and converting industry.
“Our company has always been committed to addressing environmental issues,” said Tom Embley, CEO and President of Precision AirConvey. “The L.I.F.E certification is a stringent and rigorous audited process. We want our customers to know that an objective third party has reviewed our manufacturing and certified us as a ‘green’ solution for this business sector.”
About TLMI’s L.I.F.E. Program
In 2009, TLMI introduced its L.I.F.E. program to its converter and supplier members. L.I.F.E. (Label Initiative for the Environment) was developed by TLMI in order to assist the association’s members with finding cost effective ways to reduce their company’s environmental footprint.
TLMI’s goal in creating the L.I.F.E. Program was to offer an audited certification process tailored specifically to the narrow web printing and converting industry. Examples of elements that companies address in undergoing the L.I.F.E. certification process include the recycle-compatibility of adhesives; the source and destination of liner materials and how narrow web companies are driving recycling programs for these materials; and material construction light-weighting (adopting thinner constructions that generate less waste). Front office issues are also addressed such as total energy utilization, where that energy is coming from and what a business is doing to actively reduce its overall carbon footprint.
