PAC Noise Reduction Solutions

Precision AirConvey offers a variety of sound attenuation solutions to reduce noise from trim and matrix removal systems, keeping operations OSHA-compliant and workers safe. PAC’s noise reduction solutions can be included in the design of new PAC systems or retrofitted onto existing systems — including systems from other manufacturers.

In addition to our extensive selection of pre-engineered sound attenuation equipment, we can custom-engineer solutions to meet any specific need.

PAC’s steel sound enclosures for blowers and material-handling and chopper fans can reduce motor noise by as much as 25%. These units have removable access panels for easy maintenance and strategically-placed ventilation to en- sure maximum sound reduction. Our sound enclosures work indoors and out- doors, helping to ensure minimal sound disturbance to neighboring businesses and residents.

PAC’s inline (blow-through) silencers dramatically reduce noise at cutters, fans and exhaust balance fans while preventing sounds from traveling through conveyance tubing. PAC’s inline silencers can make the system whisper- quiet, allowing operators to communicate easily at normal, conversational levels.

Silencer hoods and nozzles at the infeed reduce the “reed effect” created by material and air rushing together over the lip of the infeed while also stopping noise from spilling out from the cutter and/or fan.

PAC Dust Collection Systems

Precision AirConvey’s dust collection systems provide a cleaner, healthier work environment which meets OSHA and National Fire Protection Association standards, including NFPA 68 Standard on Explosion Protection by Deflagration Venting. Our dust collection systems efficiently and continuously remove entrained particles from the trim collection air stream, and remove dust down to two microns without bridging, caking or other build-up.

PAC engineers can custom design a dust collection system to be retrofitted into an existing trim system or custom design one to be included as part of a new trim handling system. When designing your dust collector, PAC engineers consider every facet of your process, including the type of material entering the infeed, the distance it travels through the ductwork, and the dust particle size, volume and temperature.

Filter plenum dust collection systems are best suited to indoor dust collection. To clean the filter, simply open the plenum's bag and deposit dust in a waste receptacle. Bags can then be laundered or replaced. PAC's filter plenum dust collection systems can be customized to meet unique needs.

The precision-engineered ductwork in PAC's reverse jet filtration dust collection systems is configured to support pressure levels and promote the smooth flow of conveying air, using the least amount of horsepower possible.

PAC’s proprietary hopper steep-angled design features a slide gate valve to create a sealed, air-tight connection with a 55- or 20 -gallon drum, permitting the agglomerated dust and other particles to be easily emptied without shutting down the dust collection system.

Modular PAC reverse-jet filtration dust collection systems enable the unit to be enlarged by up to 100% (or reduced) as processing conditions change, without requiring the purchase of a new dust collection unit.

Filter maintenance and replacement are easily done by a single person outside the reverse jet filtration dust collection system, without tools. The cartridge simply slides from the dust collection system and the new cartridge slides in, as if closing a file drawer.

All serviceable components are mounted outside the casing for easy maintenance and to comply with OSHA confined space entry requirement.

PAC’s Static Elimination Bar

When certain chopped or granulated materials are drawn or blown through ductwork at high speeds, a static charge can be generated. When the material becomes charged, bits of trim or granulate have a tendency to cling or clump within the air separator. This can lead to a bridging of the separator discharge chute and/or inconsistent trim material output surges. Pieces of material build up and break away rather than travel at a consistent rate.

Precision AirConvey’s BarStat Ionicflow System continuously neutralizes static charges with a series of strategically-mounted electrodes. In the conveying lines near an air separator, baler or granulator, the BarStat system directs a flood of positive and negative ions into the path of the highly charged edge trim or granulate. All ions are neutralized, regardless of polarity, and the waste material continues to flow freely en route to the next destination.
